…I was sitting in a church pew with a rowdy toddler and a one month old watching Matt and Rachel get married. Life has fast-forwarded and and now they have an adorable one year old and live by the beach in San Diego.
Natalie is such an adorable little girl!
This is turning into a long post, but I really couldn’t get enough. They are such a cute family!
I got to take Jackson’s pictures at Hume Lake just before his second birthday. Last year I took his pictures on his first birthday, so it was fun to see how much he’d grown. Plus my kids are in love with him…more on that to come.
Here are a few of my favorite Jackson pictures:
Are you lookin’ at me??

Meet Hudson. This might be the only sleeping picture I took during his photo session. 🙂 He was 3 weeks early and at just a month old, he’s wide eyed and just about rolling over!
With Laura’s help, we snapped a quick curled up baby picture before he squirmed away.
I love love love this picture…
And here are a few family pictures with Hudson’s very distinguished older brother, Mr. Fairbanks.
Trying out a few ideas at the park…
I’m all about color, so I loved this entry way…
And this little ottoman from Hudson’s room.
Thanks you guys…hope you enjoy the pictures!

I admit it…sometimes I ask you to do something not just to get that on film, but the reaction to ‘that.’
Here’s an example:
Jessica has a great smile, but I decide I want some more serious pictures of her, so I ask her to give me a really intense serious look. We both start cracking up every time. The result…a great picture. 🙂
I love this image, but couldn’t decide…color or black and white??
The lovely Hume Lake dock…
Jessica, thanks for being such a good sport. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

…think alike. You know what they say.
When I downloaded this picture, I loved it. There was just something about it that worked. I took it right after Maile fell and hurt her knee. Jackson had no idea what was going on and Hansel just looked at me with a knowing expression.
Anyway, for some reason I love it when clients choose to order prints that are my favorites. This print is enlarged on a storyboard in their home, which just makes me smile.

These two are absolute sweethearts. I’m so bummed to miss their wedding! Not only did they give me an amazing photo session, but Joanna taught me how to do my hair like she does. It takes practice, but you just wrap a small piece of hair around two fingers (like a pin curl) then take your flat iron and squish the hair in between for a few seconds.
Thanks for the tip, Joanna…I love your hair!

I’ve always been fascinated with people. I love hearing someone’s story and finding the connections that we all share as humans. I have found that I am sentimental in just about everything I do because of it. It’s what makes me daydream about the 50’s housewife that was so excited to move into her new Long Beach home. The same home that I’ll make my own 60 years later. I imagine what her life was like and what she felt on her first night in the new home.
Photography is my way of connecting with the people around me. I love getting to know you and giving you images that you’ll look at and remember that moment in time. How you felt. What your life was like.
One of the most memorable times in a person’s life is their wedding day. All of the details make it blur together, so I love a picture like this when the bride and groom slow down to take it all in.
