Last weekend, I shot bridal portraits of Janelle. We went to several different locations to get a variety of looks. This first post are the pictures we took on the Five Canyons trails. Janelle was a game for anything…I had her balancing on tree trunks and climbing up muddy paths. It was worth it, because…wow…isn’t she stunning!?
More to come in later!

These sisters share the same birthday! Taylor just turned 3 and Madison just turned one. I love the interaction between siblings and there’s an extra special connection between sisters. It was high noon when I shot did this session, so I figured indoors would be a better option.
When I arrived, their mom had outfit choices laid out. We decided that Taylor should wear a pair of fall-ish brown boots with her mini-skirt. Taylor decided she should wear polka-dotted rain boots with her mini-skirt. I said, let’s go with it…she’ll take better pictures if she’s happy with her shoes! And I’m so glad we let Taylor have the say…her rain boots SO fit her personality and just MAKE many of these pictures!
Baby sister, Madison, is at that age where you smile at her and she gives you this look like she thinks the world of you and a toothy smile to go with it!
I took this picture right after her mom got her up from her nap…doesn’t she look like the old-fashioned "Gerber Baby!?"
I think this is my favorite picture of sweet Madison…
Thanks girls for letting me chase you around your house!

A while ago I got together with my friends Joe and Mandy to document the last few weeks of her pregnancy. It was my first maternity shoot and they were fabulous. They let me do my thing, which included shooting in a laundry mat and a dirty old alley. Joe and Mandy are so spunky and cool- I hope these pictures show their personalities.
Their baby, Henry, was just born on Thursday and they’ve already agreed to let me take pictures of his newborn sweetness. They will be unique and wonderful parents…congratulations guys!
For years now I’ve been armed with my canon rebel
taking pictures of these cuties. I think the best place to start as a
photographer is with your own family. You know their personalities and
they’re available for photo shoots any time! Not that it’s easy…my
three are constantly on the move, so if I capture a shot like this, I’m
thanking my lucky stars.
Most often, I find my images look more like this. Not posed, but when I look at them I say…that is so "them!"
