What would you tell the high-school version of yourself?
I would tell myself that the things you care about right now will all fall away. In fact you won’t even remember them!

Right now I’m in a slow season for work. So, it’s the perfect time for me to talk about self care during the BUSY seasons!
My busy season is September through December. It’s when everyone needs family photos to send out a card for the holidays. I work every weekend with back to back mini-sessions. There’s lots of travel involved as I go from LA to Orange County and back.

Let’s talk about how to prepare for a family photo session! As you know planning is everything when you want a good result. So, I have a few tips to share with you.
Lessons for a Photographer:
DO NOT GIVE UP was one of the first lessons I learned as a photographer. You might see someone’s images and believe they just walked up to the family, and BOOM…great photos.
Rust, all shades of brown and burgundy are all having a moment right now!
I’ve always loved earth tones and they look so great with dark denim. And the whole combo looks stunning in dark, textured foliage.
Oh man, I could do shoots like this forever! Pink sunsets with a warm breeze are the best. The beach was pretty empty and we were able to run and around and just have fun!
I think I’ll always and forever love neutral colors at photo sessions. This sweet family did such a good job highlighting their one year old son, while staying perfectly coordinated!
When you’re taking photos at a rustic location, dark neutrals are such a good choice.
