My internet is back up for the time being…woo hoo! So, I have to quickly share some valentine wallet options for my clients who participated in the valentine mini-sessions. The wallets have rounded corners and come in sets of 8 for $30 plus tax. If any other clients would like to use a previous image for valentine wallets, just email me with your order. These make lovely tags on baked goods or presents for all your valentines!

This week was crazy as I was pulling together all the last minute details for the photo shoots at Rascals to Rebels. Of course my internet connection was spotty all week, so as soon as that light was on, I was working like mad to get things done. And according to Murphy’s Law, if it can go wrong, it will….the internet connection has been dead since Thursday. I’m surprisingly calm as I sit at The Coffee Bean trying to keep up with business! Maybe it’s because I’m still on a high from all the amazingly cute kids that came through the doors over the last two days.
It’ll take me awhile to do all the sharing, but here are a few of my favorites from Friday…
Well, my time is about to run out at The Coffee Bean, so I have to save the rest of the sharing for later. Hopefully, Charter Communications will get their act together soon!!!

It’s almost done! The set for this weekend is coming along nicely. Today involved painting with glitter and tracking down a mirrored stool.
I took a few test shots and here are the results…
In color, you can really see the details of the hand-painted canvas.
I wanted the back drop to be really soft and romantic…since it is Valentine’s Day! But, I also wanted it to be fairly neutral. As you can see, it works well with a variety of colors for clothing. Along with the mirrored stool, I’ll also be bringing a few rustic benches and a red velvet tufted chair.
I’ll keep you updated as we pull the last few details together! I’m looking forwared to an amazing weekend at Rascals to Rebels!!

I feel like we just wrapped up Christmas, how can Valentine’s Day be just around the corner? I don’t know, but it is. I’m a sucker for holidays…even if it is just for Hallmark’s sake. It’s an excuse to be festive, give gifts and of course take pictures.
Like I said yesteday, I’ll be at Rascals to Rebels at The Shops at Rossmoor on January 30 and 31 for 15 minute mini-photo sessions. The store just called to say there’s only one spot left…so if you haven’t gone over there, RUN! 🙂 I’m so excited because I’m working with Laura, the set designer at a local Anthropolgie, to put a mini-set together for the photo sessions. She has amazing style, so I can’t wait to see what we come up with!
If you’re one of the luckies that already has their spot booked for next weekend…can’t wait to meet you!

Remember way back when I did this photo session? I bought a wooden bowl at a barn sale, that I finally got around to sanding down and staining. We broke it in yesterday!
What a happy guy! Maybe he’s so happy because he’s the very first client to get photographed in my new home studio/guest house. They recently finished putting in the floors…woo hoo! There’s still a bit more to do, but it’s coming together.
This was the last shot taken…and I think he’s saying “OK lady, enough of your shenanigans…put my clothes on” with his eyes.
Speaking of mini-sessions…it’s amazing what can be accomplished in 15 minutes. 🙂 In fact, sometimes, mini-sessions are better for little ones because we pack it all in by the time they are way OVER having their picture taken.
Rascals to Rebels at The Shops at Rossmoor is hosting complimentary mini-sessions on January 30 from noon to 2pm and on January 31 from 10am to noon. You have to sign up in the store, so head on over. I’ll be posting more details about it tomorrow!

I decided today that I would make a good pioneer woman. From the time I get up to the time I go to bed I am non-stop. I can manage to pack a trip to the gym, a trip to the fabric store, a client meeting, ballet, a mini photo session, lunch with a friend, a planning meeting, a trip to the grocery store, homework, a trip to the library, making dinner and cleaning the floors into one day. For, um, example. Here’s the catch…when the sun goes down I’m tapped out. I’m done. That brings me to my point…pioneer women grinded it out until sun down then with no electricity it was bedtime at 6:30. That’s the life. Instead, I watch tv, piddle around, hang out with Brent, etc. etc. until 11:00pm. Ugh.
Here’s to an early bedtime tonight! Pioneer woman style! Oh and I must share from my mini-session today…
I’ll share more tomorrow…for now it’s bedtime. Well maybe a little Grey’s, then bedtime. 🙂

So, I wrote this post yesterday and it crashed write before I hit publish…so it sorta took the wind out of my sails (along with a million other little things) and I decided tomorrow is a new day!
Everything Hume Lake does is amazing, fun and purposed! We had a blast…as usual. And the kids fully think they are in high school now after hanging around 900 of them for the long weekend.
For the first time this year, the tube run allowed you to hook up to a “lift” and get pulled up the hill. There were people at the top that turned you around and pushed you down the run. It does sort of take the calorie burning out of sledding, but great when you have little kids and you don’t want to carry all their tubes up the hill!
Here’s what it looked like from the bottom…
And here’s what the kids looked like when they came down the hill!
We went in for some hot cocoa after a few hours in the cold. Brent was outside drawing on the window for Cooper…too cute!
Another fun thing we got to do was ice skating!
When Brent speaks at high school camps he always tells the students that our kids are super friendly, so come up say hi…and Cooper will probably even tell you a knock knock joke. The high schoolers were amazing and totally took our kids in…even helping them on skates!
And I’m not a landscape photographer, but the views there are spectacular!
Thanks Hume Lake for a great time! We’ll be back this summer!!

Do they look cold!? Because they definitely were! I’m thawing out today, catching up on laundry and taking a turn on the other side of the camera today.
I know I’m way behind on emails right now, so I promise to catch up soon…along with everything else! I’ve got a ton of great pictures to share from the snow- those are coming soon too. 🙂
