This last weekend I got another fun box full of Gigi Creations to photograph!  I took Cooper and Jillian out to a rustic old field I found in between some buildings off the boulevard.  It looks like we’re in the middle of the country somewhere and that’s what I love about it!

Last week I did some commercial work for Frilli Lilli and I’m just in love with their fall stuff!  Jillian modeled this kimono style dress…

And sweet little one year old Piper modeled this outfit…

I wanted to keep Piper…those humongous blue eyes and that curly hair…awww!

These days I’m glued to weather.com, accuweather.com, yahooweather.com…you get the idea!  I was in luck when the rainstorm scheduled for Saturday decided to come on Friday night.  The clouds parted on Saturday and allowed just enough sunlight for me to have a fabulous photo session with the Barlow kids.
I shared awhile back about a great little tucked away park that I found.  It’s huge and perfect for exploring! 
Here are the girls…

And all three of the Barlow kids…which are almost the exact same ages as my own three kids…so I was right at home with them!

Getting authentic smiles from older kids can sometimes be a challenge.  As a photographer, you need to be creative…the swings were just the thing to get some amazing smiles!

And pink umbrellas don’t hurt either… 🙂

Now when you’re three years old, dressing up like a fairy will do the trick any day!

I think this is my new favorite image…and it may even end up on the header of my blog.  I’m a girly-girl at heart!

I’m sharing three sessions in this post…all repeat clients…which is so nice!  First up is Nancy, who came for the Valentine mini-sessions a few months ago.  She brought her sweet girls back along with their cousin Jordan.  Two year old Jordan was a total hoot!  He was Mr. Serious until I found out that for some funny reason sneezing makes him laugh.  (You should have seen all of us sneezing to try to get him to smile!)

And here are Zaria and Izabella…back for round two with me!

Another returning client from the Valentine mini-sessions was Aurora and her family.

Did I mention what a beautiful day it was!?

Last time Aurora was a little shy and this time she knew the drill and totally worked the camera!

The last of the morning sessions was Jill and her kids.  I met Jill 5 years ago when I was designing clothing.  At that time Jill’s daughter Emma was only four…look at her now!

And her big brother, McKinnley…

It’s so amazing how time flies!

Back to back I saw a set of girl siblings and a set of boy siblings…both sessions were special…in their own way.  First is Megan- I met Megan about a year ago when I was designing children’s clothing.  She was a customer from Alameda, and even though she was nearby, we never met in person.  When I announced that I was doing Easter mini-sessions, Megan emailed right away and told me she wanted to come…even though she now lives in FRESNO!  I was really honored that she made the long drive with her girls and really happy with the pictures I got of these two sweet little girls.

And I have to share this picture of Amaris on the couch because I love how vintage and timeless it looks!

Next up was Ethan and his baby brother Eli.  What’s so special about these brothers is that Eli was the youngest of my clients on Saturday.  This five weeker wasn’t so happy about being stripped of his blanket and laid in the grass. 🙂

Things were much better when he was cuddled up with his brother!
And I think this shot has to be one of my all time favorite pictures of siblings.  There’s just something about it…it’s almost like you can look at them as babies and imagine them as grown adult brothers and the bond they’ll share.

I have to take a break in sharing all my Easter sessions from last weekend to post some very special pictures of a very special delivery.
Meet Drew Weston…

I got to meet Drew and his family this afternoon because of a last minute phone call from a close friend.  All the schedules lined up and I was able to photograph Drew…which really made my day.  Everyone met up at my house, so it was lots of fun being in on the excitement of the day.
We started out taking ‘sleepy’ picture of Drew on his fuzzy blanket.

I was reminded that when photographing newborns, they run the show!  If they don’t want to cross their legs, they don’t…if they don’t want to close their eyes, they don’t.  🙂  So all my plans go out the window and I get to photograph Drew as he is in his first week of life…alert.

And that’s what makes it so special…all Drew’s pictures are unique…his big brown eyes and wild hair.  Can you tell he melted my heart?

So, thank you to Joy and Jake for letting me be part of this special day.

On November 2 Arianne turned one and I was there to take pictures of her on first birthday!  I was so excited to hear that not only were her mom and dad bringing her out for the Easter mini-sessions, but that they are expecting baby #2!

Arianne had on the cutest dress and I love love love her shoes!

After Arianne and her family was Caleb and Catelyn.  They go to my church, but I had never met them before.  Caleb was a little shy at first, but as soon as I told him that I had stickers I won him over!

Catelyn was also not quite so sure about me and my big camera until I enlisted Caleb’s help to make her smile!  I wish I could have turned the camera behind me on him because the adults were cracking up at Caleb making faces to her.  But hey…it worked!!

I’m so glad I got a chance to meet these cuties and I’ll be looking for them around church to say hi!

I’m breathing a sigh of relief as I finish up editing the last of my 15 sessions from Saturday.  The Easter mini-sessions went great!  Everyone was on time, the weather was warm and my two assistants (Tabitha and Cathy) were amazing.
I’ll be posting all week because these kids are just too cute not to share!  The morning started with Kellan and his big sister Taylor.  They arrived bright and early and were ready to break in the Victorian settee.

With a little help from mom and dad I was able to capture this shot…awwww!

Just chillin’ out….

Next on the list was Hilary and her son Brenan.  Brenan was such a smiley guy and he brought along a friend. 🙂

I didn’t go much into the story of how I found the settee for my Easter Mini-Sessions…or maybe I should tell how IT found ME!  I have been hitting thrift stores and Craig’s list for the perfect chair for months.  I finally saw the chair and called on it, happily surprised that it was still available.
Brent came with me to pick it up.  In the rain…I mean pourrrrring rain.  When we arrived, we realized that there were four flights of narrow stairs to carry it down.  Yikes.  So, after meeting Shel and paying for the chair, she asked me if I would take away the matching settee.  Um, yes.  (Well, that’s what I said…I’m thinking Brent was saying- um, no.)
Long story short, Brent carried the settee and the chair by himself down the all the stairs and made them all fit in our Sequoia.  See, it was meant to be.
And to finish the saga, I promised Brent that I’d sell them as soon as the mini-sessions were over.  Right now I have like 9 pieces of random furniture in my living room, so these MUST go.  But….before this furniture is sold to the highest bidder I wanted to say- If anyone wants to schedule a full session with this wonderful Victorian furniture, please email me within the next week.  After that, I’ll be scoping out my next ‘must have’ for photo sessions.

Like I mentioned yesterday, I just bought this umbrella for a future session.  I wanted to do a little practice session with it and I knew Jillian would be thrilled.  The first thing she said was, this is for me…not the brothers.  ‘The brothers’ is how she refers to Jake and Cooper…like they’re in organized crime or something…well in her world that broken doll cradle is organized crime.  Anyway…on to the umbrella pictures- the girls only umbrella pictures. 🙂
