I love this curly redhead! I’ve been photographing her since she was a baby and now she has a new baby sister. I can just envision our future photo sessions with two little sets of red bouncy curls. Love!
It gets worse before it gets better.
Isn’t that how a lot of things are? We have to tough out the hard stuff to get to the good stuff. When I blogged at the beginning of the week about my accident last weekend, I was in a hydrocodone-induced fog with a little frustration mixed in from the whole one-handed thing. I haven’t let my injury stop me from having fun with the kids, eating way to much ice cream and paddling across the lake. Well, Brent paddled, and I got to enjoy the scenery. Being at Hume Lake, away from our fast paced life, is wonderful. And I’m glad I didn’t decide to stay at home to feel better. Feeling better is best done under pine trees with a milkshake in your hand. Trust me, I know.
Here’s a bit of sharing from my recent mini-sessions at the bay. I have lots more to share, but the whole-slowing down thing makes blog posts take forrreeevver. So, little by little we go. Oh AND I have 2 amazing recipes coming up from my friend Ben the Chef. He’s the real-deal, guys, and I can’t wait to show you what we did!
I posted the other day about Ashton’s birthday party, but also wanted to share his one year portraits. We met on a separate day to spend some time documenting the life of a busy one year old! He’s such an expressive guy. His little surprised look was my favorite. 🙂
A few weekends ago, I photographed Ashton’s first birthday party. He loves Clubhouse Disney, so they went all out and created a party that would make Mickey himself jealous! Every detail was to perfection and every vendor I worked with was at the top of their game.
There were hundreds of photos from the party, but I tried to narrow it down so I could share the highlights of the day!

Here’s one more Mother’s Day session that happened last week.
It’s almost summer, which means it’s time to head over to Rascals to Rebels! I’ll be back to the store for mini-photo sessions on June 30 and July 1. The back drop is playful and full of color…perfect for all the fun clothes they have in store right now!
Head over to the store to make a $50 minimum purchase and the session is free. Prints and digital images can be ordered from the session and all the details can be found on my website.

This time of year is the best. Temperatures are moderate, the lighting is starting to change and people are just overall pumped that summer is around the corner.
I photographed the twins above almost 2 years ago when they were newbies. Seeing them walking and babbling was such a joy! Probably one of the best parts of my job. Connecting with people and then getting to watch their kids grow up makes me feel like family.
I also got to do a photo shoot for Junie Bloom this week that involved dresses with all kinds of feminine detail, tea sets and an antique pram. This is SO up my alley! The models are all friends at school, so it’s a blast to photograph them!
Misha Lulu was also on the docket this week. Their clothes are super fun and they just put a smile on your face! My models were spunky and sweet…perfect for this brand. Lots of work for Little Skye Children’s Boutique this week!!
I’ll end the post with something I don’t do very often. Normally my subjects are under the age of middle-school! I am running after toddlers and holding babies. It’s my comfort zone. So, when these ladies from church contacted me, it was a wonderful change of pace. They are all widows and best friends. They were as sweet as could be!
It’s back again and this time with a twist! Last year I held photo sessions by the bay in Long Beach and it was an amazing backdrop. This time I’m bringing along the blue velvet love seat (yay!) and quilt tent and a new set of fabric fishies!

This week was full of mamas and their babies. Everyone was so into the photo sessions and I loved it! As moms, it’s not often we get to dedicate time to document loving on our littles! I have so many favorites from these photo sessions, but I’ll try to keep it somewhat brief. 🙂
One thoughtful mom set up the photo session as a Mother’s Day gift for her mother-in-law. Grandma’s eat this stuff up!!
And here’s a sneak peek of what’s coming tomorrow! I did a photo session at the beach with the blue love seat from the spring mini-sessions. This will be it’s swan song before it gets kicked out so I can buy a new vintage piece! Details coming tomorrow…
