Sooooo…it’s the weekend! This is the first weekend in a while that I have a Saturday off. Woo to the hoo! Brent and I are attending a friend’s wedding, then we’ll hang out with the kids and I might even mop my floors. The life of a rock star. 🙂
I hope you are ready to enjoy a fun-filled Saturday! And to kick it off, here are some pictures of 7 month old Carlee, who’s just about edible.
I would love to put a caption to the picture above…something like, ‘are we done YET? My agent did not agree to these conditions.’ Ahhh, cute little baby smirk.
These pictures were taken in the studio…I keep meaning to share pictures with you. It’s only been, what A YEAR, since it’s been finished. I love the natural light and it’s so great to have a large flat screen for my ordering sessions. I’m searching for the perfect pillow to finish the space, then I’ll share pictures. Promise.

I CANNOT believe it’s been almost a year since I’ve been back to the Bay Area to take photos and visit friends. Crazy! I’ve been in contact with a few of my previous clients and I’m mostly booked, but I decided to open up Sunday morning April 18 for some mini-sessions.
Unfortunately, I’ve priced myself out of many of my previous client’s budgets, so this is a great/affordable way to update your photos while I’m there.
Price: $100 includes 20 minute session and one digital image
Location: Park in the East Bay (exact location depends on who will be attending 🙂
Date/Time: April 18 10:00am to 11:30am
If you’d like more details or want to book a mini-session, shoot me an email to info@kristineldridge.com
And since rainbowed colored hands has NOTHING to do with mini-sessions in the Bay Area, I’ll include this to add a little chuckle to your day. Who knew egg dye was so strong!? The kids had multi-colored hands at church on Sunday morning. I guess I probably should have MADE them use the sticks provided in the kit. 🙂
My favorite part of photographing maternity clients is getting a text that says, “I’m in labor!” It’s so exciting to know the baby is coming and in a week or so, I’ll be meeting the baby and helping them to document this INCREDIBLE stage of life.
Baby Luke arrived on March 4th and I was at their house on March 9th to photograph him in his new little room. (**This is the perfect time to photograph newborns! Before two weeks is optimal for getting the best photos.) One of my favorite things was his bassinet. The color of the walls and the natural tones of the bassinet make such a beautiful picture!
I also got to try out a brand-new prop…my newborn cocoons! I had several of these made and they turned out perfectly!! I’m able to offer them to other photographers. If you’re interested, they are silk/wool/mohair loop and the shape/size is perfect for wrapping newborns and my knitter will sell them for $50. Email me (info@kristineldridge.com) if you would like one.
Here’s a few more pictures of Baby Luke in all of his adorable newborn-ness!!
Thanks again to Jeanine and Wade for creating the perfect environment for Baby’s Luke’s newborn photo session. 🙂

This has been a month of favors! My father-in-law has been lending his truck (and his muscles!), Brent has been lending his muscles, Jeni has been lending her backyard and Matt has let his gardening chores fall by the wayside, so I can have that long overgrown look. All that to make pretty pictures!!
The sad news is, my time with the Victorian settee is coming to an end. I will be selling the couch at the beginning of April, so my last photo sessions will be March 31.
If you’ve been on the fence, call me before it goes away!! I have a few time slots throughout the day…even in the early evening.
I owe all my friends and family BIG-TIME, so I think the next piece I acquire will be a little smaller. 🙂 Maybe a little more manageable!
Here are a few shots from recent sessions…I love how everything is coming out!
Don’t forget March 31 is the last day to book a session with the settee!!

After spending a few days of R&R in Palm Springs, I feel ready to face the week! It’s going to be another busy one…ending with the spring mini-sessions at Rascals to Rebels. I’m so excited!!
This photo session happened last month and it’s funny, but I feel like the February weather was pretty good compared to the weather we’ve had in March. (I can’t tell you how many photo sessions I’ve had to re-schedule!) We started out in my studio, taking some clean bright photos–then ended up at a local park.
Nothing beats the outdoors for photos, but I love shooting in the studio because the pale blue walls and all white furniture lend such a clean look to the images. It compliments all skin tones…I love it!
I should also mention that I’m lucky enough to live one street over from a huge park…it’s so nice to have it close by! These girls were so cute…they were so excited to get to the park. We kept having to tell Ali just a few more pictures, then we’ll go!
Enjoy the last few hours of weekend!!

I’m at it again. I should be in bed, but I’m burning the midnight oil…there just aren’t enough hours in the day!! Speaking of bed…there’s no better place to take pictures with your kids at home. It’s homey and comfy and who doesn’t like to jump on a freshly made bed!?
I love this series! I can picture it hung right above their bed. Don’t these pictures make you want to jump on the bed with them!!?

Sometimes when I meet a new family the kids are shy. This is when I wish my camera was invisible. I hate that I have to hide behind a big black box. So, I try to get to know babies and kids before I pick up my camera. And sometimes, they let me into their world. They tell me about the things they like…what they know how to do.
Taking pictures in a play area is a good way for kids to warm up to the idea of being photographed. We start on their turf! And pretty soon, they’re having fun and they forget what I’m there to do.
I have much more to share from this photo session…but it’s about 2 hours past my bedtime, so part 2 will have to come tomorrow!

When one of my favorite clients emailed me to tell me that Ivy would be a big sister to Baby Violet, she called it her cute garden. I was so excited when she finally brought the “cute garden” 🙂 into the studio to be photographed. Violet was just 2 weeks and Ivy was as proud as can be!
Here’s Violet in her little onesie with wings. She’s a miracle baby, so it’s only fitting that she has wings!
There’s something magical about newborns…and I love being able to capture those fleeting moments. Also, [I’m so excited to photograph the girls again when Violet is sitting up!

I love happy babies!
Even in this picture when it looks like big sister is pulling on his ear, he’s still all smiles. Ahhhh….CUTE!
Speaking of happy…that’s how I felt when Grace from Design*Sponge emailed me to let me know my couch would be featured on her blog!!
Click here to see the story! And if you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere and haven’t heard of Design*Sponge….check it out daily. Grace updates all the time with the most incredible features!!
Have a great Tuesday!
