The location for your photo session plays a huge part in how the photos will look.  You’re the focus, but the location is the backdrop and sets the tone for the photo session.

How to Choose a Location for your Maternity Session:

  1. Consider the lighting-  Do you like golden hour lighting?  Do you like a more neutral look, like an overcast morning?  Look at photos online to determine what type of lighting you’re more drawn to.  For this photo session, she was going with an overall romantic look.  So, golden hour was perfect!
  2. Consider driving distance- For some people staying within 15 minutes of their home is important.  If you know that your kids will melt down in the car, a close location is ideal.  This family was willing to drive and timed the drive with their daughter’s nap.
  3. Consider the accessibility- This mom was on modified bed rest, so we needed to choose a location that had easy parking.  Sometimes really pretty beaches can have lots of steps or parking that is difficult to find.
