So this week’s summary is a bit more exciting than most! My sweet friend, Berit, and her family live in Honolulu. So, when we make our trip over to celebrate another year of birthdays, holidays and anniversary, I am lucky enough to have her host me for a photo session extravaganza! This year, we were at Sandy’s with her and 5 of her friends. I’m going to have to break it up into two blog posts because there’s just too much to share! So, here’s part one of my 2012 Hawaii photo sessions!
It was so much fun last year, I just have to bring it back!
Here’s how it works: invite 4-6 friends to meet at the park with their kids. I show up with my camera ready to have fun. No posing, no ‘cheeeese,’ just kids being kids. Each family will be presented with an online gallery of images of their child/children from our time at the park. The approach will be photojournalistic…truly showing who they are at this stage of life. This isn’t a time to get all gussied up and take them kicking and screaming to a ‘photo shoot.’ This is a time to play with friends and be a kid!
The details:
You choose the park that your children love to go to…I will stay for approximately one hour photographing the children.
*This is for weekdays only…during the day or after school for children that are school aged.*
Your friends each pay $25 for the session. Your session is free.
Your will receive access to special digital packages if orders are placed within a week of proofing.
**Offer is valid until March 9. Email info@kristineldridge.com or call 562-980-6480 to reserve a date.
Summer 2011…Hume Lake. It doesn’t get any better than this!
It’s difficult to photograph babies that aren’t sitting up yet. Especially with their older siblings. In this case, I had a super sweet big sister that was able to hold him, but sometimes a big sister’s arms can get tired or sometimes you’re not so lucky to have a big sister. So, I rely on baskets. It’s the perfect way to prop up a baby. Siblings can get close and interact without having the pressure of NOT BREAKING THE BABY. 🙂
If a basket isn’t available, I’ll have everyone lie down. OR…if the baby falls asleep and is not longer able to sit up on their own.

Almost a year ago, I photographed Colin with his big sister Zoe. I love when toddler siblings give me such honest expressions…the new baby is greeted with great curiosity!
Colin was so agreeable…hello baby number 3! This shot of him on the vintage suitcase is one of my favorites. Not all newborns will fall asleep on a hard surface like this…only the deep sleepers. 🙂
