I’m a baby photographer in Long Beach and this sweet little photo session with Baby J started out with her big sister. Usually my first pose is the older sibling sitting cross legged while holding the baby in their lap. From there, I’ll have the older sibling lay on their tummy with their head close to the baby. It’s the perfect position for giving kissing and taking close-up shots.
The last thing I do before moving to family photos is posing the older sibling on their back with the baby. I stand above them and direct them to hug the baby and give kisses. I love them I’m able to be so close I can really interact with the older sibling.
Once we move on to family photos, I’ll mix in a variety of sitting and standing poses. I also like to go between looking at the camera and giving direction for some candid shots. After the family photos, the older child is done and I try to squeeze in just a few with mom and dad and the baby.
From there I take photos of the baby alone and the family can relax and enjoy the rest of the session!
