When siblings are close in age, it makes the newborn session so extremely sweet. The interactions are incredibly authentic. This recent newborn session was fun of all the things I love…hugs and snuggles and kisses. Plus Baby M’s rosebud lips and fresh curls slayed me. She’s just so stinkin’ cute!!
II Photographer Long Beach Baby Mini-Sessions II Twenty minutes doesn’t seem very long. And it’s not. But, when we’re talking about photographing a moving baby, it’s plenty. When babies start being mobile, they are constantly changing body positions and have a huge variety of facial expressions. Mini-sessions are perfect for this age because it’s all you need. And right around the 20 minute mark, they’re getting a little tired of being photographed, so everybody wins.
If you haven’t considered a mini-session for your baby, check out the details here. Mini-sessions are more affordable than a full-session, so it allows you to capture the milestones….think sitting up, crawling, standing and walking. My studio provides the perfect neutral background for timeless photos.
When babies are born close together, sometimes it’s hard to realize you’re not the only baby in the family anymore. It can be a little bit of a transition for young toddlers to add a new baby to the mix. But, the flip side is that the transition tends to go quickly. Days and weeks later, the routine becomes normal and the siblings can hardly remember a time without each other. [ Newborn Photography Long Beach ]
I’ve been photographing newborns for 10 years and I notice this really unique bond formed between siblings that are close together. The older sibling wants to give all their love to the new baby. They shower the baby with kisses and hugs. Toddlers can also become little helpers and wanting to feed the baby and quiet her when she cries.
I think this bond is so special and I love being able to capture these sweet little moments.
This sweet baby girl joins a family who loved her before she was even here on this earth. Her older siblings anticipated her arrival and now that she’s finally here everyone wants to hold her. It’s gotta be great to be the center of so much love.
She will have connections with each of her older sisters and her older brother in a unique way. One might want to rough and tumble with her and another might teach her to read before she starts kindergarten. I love seeing big families. They dynamic is so loving. That lucky baby will be adored times four..plus her parents.
Her newborn session went so smoothly as her older siblings doted over her and kissed her little head. She woke for a bit and then went right back to sleep for her photos alone. What a perfect baby model!
I recently drove to Los Angeles, Santa Monica to be exact for a super sweet newborn session. This mama loves all the neutrals, just like me. We had so much fun planning her newborn session with her two sweet girls. Her older daughter has a teepee in her room, so of course we had to incorporate that as well. I love how the newborn session turned out. What they wore perfectly complimented all the grays and whites. Such a beautiful set of girls!
At the end of this at home Newport Beach newborn photography session, we headed out to the beach for a few additional shots. It was a little chilly, but I’m so glad we did. The baby was all snuggled and warm, so she was happy and content for this part of the shoot. She’ll most likely grow up by the beach, so I love that her first days of life are documented there.

If you’re a detail-oriented person like me, you want the colors of your birth announcement just perfect. And sometimes, websites only have a limited amount of colors. What I love about Basic Invite is that they are one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options so you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it, down to the littlest detail.
I just created this birth announcement and was looking for the perfect peachy-pink to compliment the baby’s skin tone. I was able to customize the back of the card and add the same peach-pink in the text and graphic design. Each element on the card has it’s own color options, which make the process so customized.
Not only does Basic Invite have a lot of colors to choose from, they also have so many design templates. I had fun putting together a few different announcements and had the samples sent to me. Days later, I was checking them out to see which I liked best. With color and layout, it’s nice to see the design in person….especially before ordering multiples. If I wanted to make any adjustments, it was an easy process. They even sent me an email to see how I liked the design samples I received.
First Birthday Invitations were another product that I had fun creating on the site. I was able to customize the envelope color and get this…all of envelope styles are peel and seal so the envelopes can be quickly and securely closed without licking a single one.
Using Basic Invite was a breeze. From choosing designs and colors to the follow-up by their customer service team, I knew I was going to love the end result. And with their sample system, if I didn’t love my first choice, I could try another sample. By the time I am ready to order boxes of announcements or invitiations, I’m in love with every detail of the card.

Hello, nice to meet you. Newborn sessions are so sweet because really, this new little being has only been on this side of the womb for a week or so. They’ve heard your voice and felt your warmth, but they’re still getting accustomed to the sites and sounds of the world. And you’re still learning their coos and cries.
This sweet little newborn session took place in my studio in Long Beach. Just the soft, simple white wall, parents and their brand new baby girl.
I see lots of one year photo session ideas…but the most recent one I photographed was just too cute. I had to share it with you! Instead of doing a cake smash, this mom put together a variety of edible finger paints. I love that moms are more conscious when it comes to what they are giving their children to eat. Not that I’m against a cake smash. If there’s a time to give your baby sugar, I think that’s the time!
This one year old’s favorite food is Fage yogurt. So, her mom used the yogurt to create finger paints. She put them in cute containers and dyed them with natural dye. We used a white piece backdrop paper for the floor. Hello, easy clean up! I got set to go and mom put her down. It was non-stop fun for a good 10 minutes! And I love the way the photos turned out.
