Last week Baby Luke came by the studio on the rainiest day in all of Southern California! He was wide awake and ready to catch all the action!
This new gray backdrop is one of the pieces I purchased from downtown LA a few weeks ago and I love this color with rich skin tones.
Here he is with his adoring mommy and daddy…
What a great photo session with Baby Luke! I love photographing newborns…(sigh!)

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. When life gives you more rain then you know what to do with, you throw a parasol over your shoulder and pretend that flooded park is an idyllic lake.
It’s a good thing Madison had such a fun personality…we were chasing down the last bit of sunshine before the next rain hit. As rain drops started sprinkling again, she just giggled.
Here’s to a sunny week ahead and no more rescheduling photo shoots!!

Two newborn sessions, two toddler photo session, a family session, a few get-togethers with friends and lots of laundry later…AND I’M BACK! I apologize for the delay in announcing the winner of the $100 gift card. Random.org picked lucky number commenter #14…Annie Blatter. Please email me at info@kristineldridge.com so I can send you the gift card!!
Remember this maternity picture?
Here’s the same stump used in a totally different way. I love this family picture.
…and this sibling shot. Too cute!
I’m a hopeless romantic…I imagine them as adults looking back at these pictures talking about childhood memories. I have two boys, so I especially love the connection that brothers have!
And one last share…a close up that just has me coming back to say how adorable this little guy is! I love the natural vignetting that happened. Gotta love prime lenses!!

I love family pictures that show connection…and these do it for me!
Plus they show the range of emotion in a toddler…these images were taken within moments of each other!
Dominic is a repeat client…and those chubby cheeks, big blue eyes and curls…be still my heart!
I’m off to a photo session today…hoping to beat the rain that’s supposed to come at noon. Wish me luck!

This post has been a long time coming!
Since the beginning of my business, I’ve been making my own logo, designing my cards, etc. etc. Last summer I got to the point where I felt like it was time to invest in hiring a designer to create a logo and basically overhaul every aspect of my business.
I knew exactly who to turn to…Allyson Baker. I fell in love with her wedding invitations and was SO excited to see what she would come up with!
Like I said, we started talking over the summer and I begin gathering inspiration and asking myself some hard questions about the direction I wanted to take my business.
In the end, I wanted something that was modern, yet still playful with a big emphasis on the fact that I am a children’s photographer.
I love what Allyson came up with…I’m sure you’ve noticed the new logo at the top of my blog! Along with the new header, side pattern and dividers…check out the facebook and twitter links!! Oh and here’s the splash page of my website:
And if you haven’t seen my website lately, go take a look! I’ve been working hard to change out all the portfolio pictures, as well as text and general info.
Here’s the new front picture with Allyson’s handi-work!
I also had letter-press business cards made, which Allyson designed. The cards are so thick and gorgeous…the quality is just out of this world!!
My favorite thing about my card is the way she designed my phone number…isn’t it SO cute!?
The main reason that a photographer wants to brand herself is so that her purpose speaks through everything that’s on the web and every piece of print. I love how cohesive it all is. Here’s a look at all my new print items and packaging…
I customized the ordering tri-fold from Design Aglow that I give clients!
My new gift card! And JUST BECAUSE…I will be giving a $100 gift card to ONE LUCKY COMMENTER! Leave a comment below and I’ll use random.org to choose the winner on Friday January 22 at midnight.
I also asked Allyson to design the paperwork that clients receive as well as the invoice. Here’s what she came up with…
This has been the BEST money I have ever spent! It takes the pressure off my to try to make things look good and I can focus on what I’m good at…taking pictures! If you’re thinking about branding your business…head over to Allyson at http://allysonbakerdesign.blogspot.com/. Not only is she super sweet to work with, she’s incredibly talented to boot!
Don’t forget to enter a comment for a chance to win a $100 GIFT CARD!

With 2010 in full swing, I’m off to a good start! I went to a new location with Laura and Hudson to get a little grunge back into my life. We were a little short on time because of the early sunset, but we promised to go back with the intention of exploring the area.
In other news, I hit an estate sale today in Garden Grove and found a vintage chair I’m really excited to use. I’ve got Valentine ideas floating around in my head. More on that to come!
Here’s a little sneak peek of our afternoon at the docks. I’m working on a project with the rest of the photos (that has me pulling my hair out right now!) but will hopefully end with a cool new product.

Happy 2010!

One of my last photo sessions from 2009…
I wish I had an adorable picture like this with my sister from when we were little! Their baby cousin was a previous client of mine and she knows how to bring the cuteness…big time!
More girly-girls…
I never grow tired of this vintage chair! And one of my resolutions for 2010…make the time to look for more vintage furniture!!
