My vision for the railroad tracks was finally realized this morning! After waiting a few weeks for my vintage suitcase to arrive, I met Sarah and her two little cuties.
Grant’s haircut was what won me over…oh and that infectious smile!
Grant’s little brother Cole goes by Cole Cotton. Isn’t that the cutest name for the cutest little boy??
Thanks cute boys for a fun morning!!

The Huntington Beach photo sessions at Rascals to Rebels were amazing! The weather was perfect, the moss wall looked so cool and the kids were dressed to the nines. I don’t want to give too much away, because I want all the families to be able to be surprised when they get the passwords for their online galleries.
I will give you a teeny tiny sneak peek. 🙂 I knew the day was off to a good start when my first client was dressed in daddy’s tie and a pair of distressed jeans. Can you say cute!!? He had the best personality…so much fun!!
**As a side note, I just dropped off the sign up list for April 3 and 4 to the Rascals to Rebels in Rossmoor. There are a few openings left, so tell your neighbors and friends…go sign up before the moss wall goes away! 🙂
I have two photo shoots tomorrow before I take off for Hawaii, so I’ll keep the posts rolling and share more of the mini-sessions with you later this week!

Just got done with an amazing day at Rascals to Rebels in Huntington Beach. I cannot wait to share some of these pictures on the blog…serious eye candy! For now, I wanted to share a little inspiration. When I give my clients their gallery of images, they get a little overwhelmed with WHAT TO DO with all of them. Wall art is the answer…
This is a wall in my bedroom FILLED with various black and whites (a lot were taken by Shannon!) I bought 3 foot ledges at Pottery Barn and started having my favorite prints mounted on styrene board.
I love the casual art gallery feel! And you can really go with a huge variety of sizes…or start the collection with a few favorites and add to them over the years.
Have a great weekend!

I love the modern look of printed canvas wrapped around the frame. Plus, they come ready to hang. You can’t beat that!
I have a few of them for my house and I’m in the process of ordering more for my home studio.
My clients love them too, here’s one I shared not to long ago…
If you are a past or current client, you can enjoy 25% off gallery wraps for the month of March (must be 16×20 or larger). So, get your shop on…here are the current prices/savings:

The deal ends March 31, so let me know if you need me to re-activate your gallery slide show.

I get a lot of comments on one of the pictures that’s on the front page of my website. It’s a mom and her daughter standing in a field of yellow wildflowers. The picture was taken in the Bay Area, where there are countless fields of wildflowers. I’ve been on the hunt to find something local, so I was super excited to stumble upon this…
It’s not too far from my house, which makes it even better!
Another new find is this chair:
I have to show you what it was in its former life…
Ewwww, right? I loved the structure and at just $40, I couldn’t resist making my first attempt at furniture upholstery. I started by stripping the entire chair down and found that it was stuffed with….HORSE HAIR. After a little research I found that horse hair was the “cadillac” of stuffing and dates this chair around the 20’s.
You can count on this chair showing up in photo sessions here and there! Wouldn’t it be great at the beach!?

This weeked I met Kelley and her family at the beach in Carlsbad. We had plans to meet and it ended up being such a gorgeous day that we had to move down the coast to less populated un-named beach. This is when it’s awesome to have clients that know the best picture spots in their area!
Logan didn’t remember the last time he was at the beach, so this was taken the first time he realized the waves actually come back after they go out!
Here’s big sister….I literally stopped her to take this picture because her eyes are such an amazing color…especially when they are lit up by the sun!
And all it takes is a little seaweed to get some authentic smiles from an eight year old boy!
What a cute family they are!!
I had so much fun getting sandy with you guys! Hope you had fun too… 🙂

The Rascals to Rebels at Huntington Beach is hosting complimentary spring mini-sessions this Friday and Saturday. There are one or two more openings left on Saturday, so hurry on over to reserve your spot. I have a feeling they’ll be gone soon!
I’m so excited about the backdrop I’ll be using this time around. It’s a moss wall inspired by the “living wall” at Anthropologie. Basically this set will create pictures that look like you took a trip to Europe over Easter break…complete with the vintage garden chair!
My good friends Bryan and Laura built me the frame, hooked me up with moss and set me in the right direction to assemble it. After countless hours of bonding with my glue gun and a bit of green paint under my finger nails, it’s ready to go!
Thanks, Shannon…for not only letting me rip off your hydrangea headband idea, but also showing me how to do it…you style icon, you!
As you can see, the wall is perfect for bright, vibrant colors…there are so many options for little girls! Even for boys, Cooper’s sporting orange and navy, but I think kelly green, pale blue (not too pale!) and yellow would also look great. Check Rascals to Rebels for the cuuuuutest spring lines!
Can’t wait for this weekend!!
