I am going to back track a little to show the set up that the Anthro girls put together for the event last weekend. As per usual, every detail was amazing!
This table set up included hand-made doggie biscuits and delicious mini-cupcakes for their owners. It blended seamlessly into the home decor part of the store.
Across from the edibles were dog-related products like artist comissioned tees, candles and soap for dogs along with Glamour Dogs and a knitting book to make your own doggie sweaters!
You can also see a little rack of chic dog collars that the girls had made to give to all the customers who came out for the event. What pampered pets!!
I offered a limited edition accordion album for the event. It is black leather and holds twelve 4×6 images. I love the way it displays!
I am a firm believer that details make the difference. The whole Newport team hosted an unforgettable event for all the dogs and their owners! From the homemade dog biscuits and collars to the amazing products and complimentary photo sessions…it was a success!

I’d like to introduce a few friends from last weekend’s photo shoot at Anthropologie…
Eloise, Bailey, Skeeter, Pony Max and Roxy
When all was said and done there were over 20 dogs that came to see me…each with its own cute little personality! I’ll share more from the sessions soon…in the meantime, I have a few more days of vacation to enjoy.

Today I met up with Peter and Maggie for a little practice session at Anthropologie. I worked with the amazing Laura and Meagan to come up with a fabulous set for our doggie sessions this Saturday. They even arranged for Peter and Maggie to be my doggie models.
I love this chair…maybe I should just take it home with me afterward!
I’m so excited about Saturday and all the fun things we are going to come up with for the doggie photo sessions! Thanks again to the lovely Peter and Maggie for modeling. 🙂

My friend Laura, recently started a style blog…Ascot Friday and lately she’s been adding personal outfits. Whenever I see her she looks adorable, as in effortless fashion. If you need a little inspiration, check out her blog…she’s got some great stuff for fall.
I had the pleasure of photographing her in an outfit of the day, which highlighted DIY cut off boots. We took the photos on my street at sunset, which was so much fun. I’ve been meaning to take some pictures on the street because of the way the light filters in and of course that big ol’ retro motor home.
I’m also loving her boyfriend blazer…which she got at a thrift store. Why are the cool things never there when I shop??
Have a great Thursday!

Lately my days have been filled with catch-up activities…like delivering orders, scheduling ordering sessions and sifting through the hundreds of pictures that happen when you do 32 mini-sessions in back to back weekends.
And of course in the middle of it all, I spilled coffee on my wireless keyboard. Perfect timing, right!?
After all the work is taken care of, I’ve been spending my afternoons and weekends with the kids looking through books of Halloween costumes. Minds are changed countless times and we never know if it will be sweltering or if it will actually feel like fall. Because it’s no fun to be a power ranger in temperatures near 100!
Ever since Jillian was born, she’s dressed up as a princess in some form. This will be the first year she WILL NOT be a princess! You’ll have to wait to see her costume, and all I can say about the boys is hello, 80’s throw-back!
Here’s Jillian last year, as you guessed it…a princess.

Being at Hume Lake this weekend…surrounded by trees, water and lots of dirt…reminded me of growing up in Montana. We did a lot of camping and a LOT of pretend play. We would play this game with my littlest sister where she was an indigenous tribeswoman…speaking no English. We would translate for her and she wore feathers we found in the woods. She did the “dirt dance, which basically meant that we were all filthy by the time we came home.
I’m sure my parents loved it. 🙂
Since a post isn’t a post without a picture, here’s a sweet picture of the cutest red-headed sisters. And I loved their little Crew Cuts outfits!
Have a great weekend!

I’ve been doing 15 minute “mini-sessions” for several years now and feel like I have it down to a science. I can get the best smiles and laughs out of children in just a few short minutes while keeping on schedule. Now it’s time to mix things up a bit!
The Anthropologie in Newport (Fashion Island) is having an event just for dogs and they asked me to do my thing! To say I’m excited is a bit of an understatement. 🙂
If you’re in the area and you have a dog…bring them by the store to sign up for a mini photo session!

How can you not have fun while wearing a tutu!?
This little cutie came out for her one year pictures at The Rascals to Rebels Event in Huntington Beach. Look at those eyelashes! I thought only boys got eyelashes that long and curly. 🙂
I think I might have to require that tutus be worn by all one year olds at photo sessions. 🙂
