…on June 20th, that is. My dad had his own small business when I was growing up and would put up the “be back at” sign from time to time. So, I’m hanging my “be back at” sign for June 20. Don’t worry, I’ll still have email access, but no cell coverage…so if you need me, email!
And since a post isn’t a post without a picture, this is a recent cutie in the white chair I rehabbed.
I’ll be posting some fun pictures from the week, so stay tuned!

With mere weeks to go until we get to meet Baby Z, Jeff and Sam conquered grungey streets and scratchy weeds for me in search of my vision!
These guys truly trusted me with only “i love it” to go on. I hope you enjoy the results!!
I can’t believe how close we are to meeting this baby…this longed for, hoped for, prayed for baby. I’m so excited for these guys, I could barely stand it!!
Hello, hot mama!!
I love that you can see Jeff’s reflection in the glass doors.
Jeff and Sam, there are so many more to rave about. These are just a teaser for now!!

Chocolate chip cookies are the ultimate comfort food. When I have them around, I generally end up eating half the batch, so the key here is to bake for other people!
The McWaters just arrived in town, so I whipped up a batch of my favorite recipe to bring over. I did leave half at our house…and please note they are already gone. In my defense, I did have four helpers!
This is the world’s best kitchen tool. I don’t know how I lived so long without a cookie dough scooper!!
This recipe is quite simple, but the results are phenomenal! It’s just as easy as the ready-made dough and SO much better. Every one of my friends can say they’ve eaten these cookies at my house. I have the recipe memorized (again, maybe not such a great thing) and I make them. all. the. time.
Chocolate Chip Cookies:
2 sticks unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream these with a blender or kitchen aid mixer, then add 1 egg. Slowly mix in:
2 1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate chips…I tend to go heavy on these. I buy the Costco bag and throw in 3-4 generous handfuls. If you’re a reasonable human being, you’ll add a 12 oz. bag.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!

The last few weekends at Rascals to Rebels I saw a photographed a few newborns. They were angelic and sweet, sleeping right through their photo sessions!
This sweet little girl was just 8 days old! I love photographing newborns in the first 2 weeks of life. It’s the perfect time for them to be oblivious to the world. They sleep away, all cuccooned up, just like in the womb!
I’m so excited for my newborn photo session tomorrow with Josh, Laura and Kirsten. Check out their maternity session.

Sometimes there are images that make me stop dead in my editing workflow and get them on the blog. right. now.
Images like this one…
I love the connection that happened in this split second. I was photographing her with her big brothers and they disappeared inside the store for a few minutes and we caught this. LOVE it. Okay, back to the editing workflow! I’ll be chained to my computer for the next 24 hours, so I’ll be back later!!

Isn’t June a good time for strawberry pie? Actually June is a good time for strawberry anything! I bought a huge flat of strawberries the other day, so Jillian and I set to work making pies.
Shelly, if you’re reading this…surprise! This is what we’re bringing over for dessert tonight!
I got the recipe over at Lottie and Doof if you want to try it. This pie is best served with some homemade whipped cream…yum! Okay, now go out and buy yourself a flat of strawberries! It’s June!!

I’m getting ready for round 2 tomorrow at Rascals to Rebels. This time in Huntington Beach! I’ve got a full schedule and I’m so excited to see some familiar faces and meet some new little cuties.
This guy came out last weekend to the Rossmoor sessions and I just couldn’t resist all the accessories that his mom brought. We tried a bit of everything. Not bad for 15 minutes!!
Have a great Thursday!
