My camera is an extension of me. If I’m nervous before a photo session, everything disappears once I get the camera in my hand. It’s what I was made to do. And I didn’t start my life knowing that. But once I discovered it, I knew I’d never walk away. This may not always be my job, but I will always love photography.
What’s your medium? I think we all have a bit of artist in us. It’s that creative expression that makes all the stress go away for a bit. It mutes the noise of life. Do you remember that season of American Idol where the guy had Tourette’s syndrome and when he sang the stuttering stopped? All the symptoms went away. Singing was his medium.
But, I’ve seen people that crunch numbers like an artist. My accountant explains things to me that normally makes my mind spin. My web guy makes something beautiful out of all my scribbled notes. I’m inspired by people that do their job like an artist. And they live their life like an artist.
So, what’s your medium? Go inspire someone today. Be an artist!
Great post! 🙂 Yes… you were so born to do this. And I’m so glad you started, because I don’t know if I ever would have if I wasn’t inspired by YOU first!! 🙂 xoxo!
Wow Kristin! I love this post! Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration!
I so love this post. I think that I often struggle to find my medium – writing, design, being a mom, cooking. I sometimes don’t have all the direction I need, but this was a nice reminder to just do what it is that I love- even if for the moment!
I’m glad it was an encouragement, Jenni!
Thanks Tracy! You’ve already outgrown me by leaps and bounds!
That’s awesome Tiffany! Go get your groove back! 🙂
You’ve got me thinking over here…i wonder what mine is too sometimes, but i guess just keep trying things until i figure it out. It’s very cool and inspiring to see someone like you who has found that thing!
Leah, I don’t think it necessarily has to be something you get paid to do, just something you love to do. An escape. 🙂
That’s very true!
This post definitely speaks to me. You are not only a beautiful photographer, but an artist in life. Seriously…I don’t know anyone who can make food that looks as good as yours and I know it’s not just your photography skills. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙂
