I’ve been eye-ing one of those expensive fake marble photo backdrops. They started popping up in my instagram feed. I photograph food and items from time to time, so I’d definitely use it a lot.
But, have you priced them out? They’re deceivingly expensive! Especially for what you’re buying! I decided to try my hand at making my own and it was one of the easiest DIYs I’ve ever done. Plus it turned out great! I’ve already used it a few times!
All you need is a poster board (to the size of your liking) in a thicker width (so it’s sturdy) and a roll of contact paper. I purchase my ‘faux marble’ contact paper on Amazon. The roll was huge, so if this backdrop starts to wear out, I can easily make another.
Start at one end and secure the contact paper to the poster board. Gently unroll the paper and you use your palm to attach it to the board so there are no wrinkles.
Cut off the excess contact paper around the edges and you’re ready for a photo shoot!
