Chocolate chip cookies are the ultimate comfort food. When I have them around, I generally end up eating half the batch, so the key here is to bake for other people!
The McWaters just arrived in town, so I whipped up a batch of my favorite recipe to bring over. I did leave half at our house…and please note they are already gone. In my defense, I did have four helpers!
This is the world’s best kitchen tool. I don’t know how I lived so long without a cookie dough scooper!!
This recipe is quite simple, but the results are phenomenal! It’s just as easy as the ready-made dough and SO much better. Every one of my friends can say they’ve eaten these cookies at my house. I have the recipe memorized (again, maybe not such a great thing) and I make them. all. the. time.
Chocolate Chip Cookies:
2 sticks unsalted butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream these with a blender or kitchen aid mixer, then add 1 egg. Slowly mix in:
2 1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate chips…I tend to go heavy on these. I buy the Costco bag and throw in 3-4 generous handfuls. If you’re a reasonable human being, you’ll add a 12 oz. bag.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for the recipe..I love cream cheese in any way, shape or form! Too seen to give this to 9.5 months old babies though, right? No problem, hubby and I will manage!
This is funny! you said “cream these” and I first read it as “cream cheese”- see how much I love that stuff?????!!! LOL
I think I’ll move away and move back so I can get some cookies 🙂 JK! I’m amazed that you can make an electric mixer look so gorgeous! Emily was looking at your blog with me today and said, “I want to be a photographer!” so good job Kristin!
