Last Week’s Adventures!

We started off this week with a full table and ended up with an even fuller table!  Monday night was a big pot of white bean chili with some family and friends…

Later in the week, I was working on a dip-dyed project for the blog.  So, my sink was filled with pink dye!  It turned out really cute, I can’t wait to share with you guys.

I did some location scouting last week and found this little gem.  If I like the iPhone capture, I know it’s going to be off-the-hook-awesome with my real camera!

Brent had Friday morning off, so we started off the morning at Starling (LOVE this Long Beach breakfast spot), and then looked for an outfit for him to wear Easter morning.  Of course I have no photos of what he actually wore, but he told me he liked this mannequin look, so I snapped it for future reference.  Mixed prints for the win!

Speaking of Brent, have you notice how many skating pictures we’ve been posting!?  Our friends put a ramp in their backyard and Brent has been teaching the boys to skate.  It’s been fun and I’m secretly hoping this new hobby doesn’t end with any broken bones!

Saturday.  I was a little stressed to start the day.  I had a LOT to do.  Then, my friend asked me to go to boot camp on the beach.  I decided the to-do list could wait and I got my work out on instead.  Everything got accomplished and my legs felt like jello the next day!

We open Easter baskets on Saturday, because Sundays tend to be crazy busy around here.  My kids still get excited and the contents are super simple!  Usually everyone gets shoes, a new Easter outfit, a bathing suit, a movie and a TINY bit of candy.  This year I could find the big sand buckets, so everything got scrunched inside the small ones.

Saturday also involved making cinnamon rolls for the morning and arranging flowers for the tables.  So, here’s my dough hanging out with all those flowers.

Brent had to leave at 7:30am on Sunday and doesn’t get home until almost 1:00, so I had to enlist these three helpers to get me set up for all 21 (!!!) of us for lunch.  They were awesome and did everything from set the table to making lemonade for our guests.  And they’re exceptionally cute!!

I ended the week with a full heart.  I love my family and friends and it means a lot when we can all celebrate our risen Savior together!  Oh and if you want to hear Brent’s message from Sunday, it’s on the church website-  click here.

More spring mini-sessions coming up!  The wildflowers are starting pop up here and there, so by mid-April they’ll be perfect for photo sessions.  I’m going to wait until the week before to pick the exact location (to see which of my favorites has the best flower growth), but it will be in Long Beach, Seal Beach or Huntington Beach.

Here’s the details:  $100 for a 20 minute session  The first 2 to sign up for April 20 and the first 2 to sign up for April 21 will get a free digital image with their purchase. [info@kristineldridge.com or 562.980.6480]

April 20 5:40-6:00, 6:00-6:20, 6:20-6:40, 6:40-7:00

April 21st 5:40-6:00, 6:00-6:20, 6:20-6:40, 6:40-7:00

Spring Mini-Sessions at Rascals to Rebels [Rossmoor Child Photographer]

Every year I look forward to the spring mini-sessions at Rascals to Rebels.  It’s a parade of sweet dresses, gingham and bow ties.  It’s so much cute that my cheeks get tired from smiling so much!  This year, I decided upon a variation of the moss wall that I’ve made in the past.  It’s a lot of greenery with sticks and little sprouts of leaves mixed in, to give it a bit of a whimsical feel.  I’m also bringing along this antique green velvet chair for those that want to use it.  Don’t forget to go by the store to sign up….these spots go quickly!

Laguna Mini-Sessions [Orange County Family Photographer]

This year I want to bring you more of my favorite spots.  Even if it’s a little hard to get to or a little bit further than I’m used to going…I want to spend time on the things I love.  This beach in Laguna is a recent favorite and I’m going to be offering extended mini-sessions on Saturday, February 23rd.  Here are the details:  $150 for a 40 minute session and you get a free digital image with your purchase.  There is a bit of walking over rocky coral, so I wanted to allow some extra time.  But, this is such a special place…you won’t be disappointed.  A few of my favorite highlights are a succulent trail on the way to the beach, tide pools and a mysterious old castle!  **These sessions can be just the kids or the whole family.

Available times are:  3:30-4:10      4:10-4:50        4:50-5:30

Call me 562-980-6480 or email info@kristineldridge.com to reserve your spot.

Play Dates are Back! [Orange County and Los Angeles Child Photographer

PLAY DATES are back! Here’s how it works: invite 3-4 friends to meet at the park with their kids. I show up with my camera and capture priceless moments of each of the children. No posing, no ‘cheeeese,’ just kids being kids. Each family will be presented with an online gallery of images of their child/children from our time at the park. The approach will be photojournalistic…truly showing who they are at this stage of life. This isn’t a time to get all gussied up and take them kicking and screaming to a ‘photo shoot.’ This is a time to play with friends and be a kid!

**If you prefer to be inside, I will happily come to a home instead of a park.  Also, I love to incorporate the play structures into the photos, but we can keep it simply green if you like that better.

The details:

You choose the park that your children love to go to…I will stay for approximately one hour photographing the children.
This is for weekdays only…during the day or after school for children that are school aged.

Your friends each pay $25 for the session. Your session is free.

Your will receive access to special digital packages if orders are placed within a week of proofing. Please email me to receive all the specific details.

Offer is valid until March 11. Email info@kristineldridge.com or call 562-980-6480 to reserve a date.

Valentine’s Day Mini-Session [Orange County Child Photographer]

Looks like we’re going to make it out of the 50 degree weather this week.  70′s here we come!  To celebrate, I want to take you to a new favorite location.  These abandoned tracks are so charming, you wouldn’t know it’s in the middle of the city.  There’s plenty of greenery, so you’ll get much more than just the railroad tracks.

To sweeten the deal, I’m including a free digital image with your order.  As always, the 20 minute mini-sessions are just $100 and the pricing for prints and digital images (as well as details) are found on my website under pricing.

I’ll be doing the mini-sessions on February 2 and will start with 4 openings… 4:00-4:20, 4:20-4:40, 4:40-5:00 and 5:00-5:20.

To reserve your spot, you can call me 562-980-6480 or email me info@kristineldridge.com and payment is required to book.  You’ll get all the details about location (Long Beach area) when you reserve your spot.
