This morning I met Nina and her mom in downtown Danville for a little portfolio building. I love this area because it has tons of amazing shops and some gorgeous old architecture. Nina was a total natural and looked right at home in her super cute outfits!
She can make any color look amazing!
…and even though it was a chilly morning, she made it all look easy! -Kristin
Wow. My poor little blog has been neglected for a whole week! I went to Hawaii for a little R&R with every intention of blogging amazing tropical pictures. But, when we arrived I realized I had the wrong cord for my point and shoot, so I couldn’t download anything. Which ends up being all the same because I came to the conclusion that I’m terrible with that tiny little thing. Give me a 5 pound camera with a whopping lens and I’m right at home, but it seemed like I could never aim correctly, get the timing right or figure out what buttons did what. Oh well, I guess you can’t screw up a landscape like this…
We stayed on the north shore of Oahu, where all the famous surfing spots are. A swell came in on Friday and this is what it looked like at Pipeline. Which honestly doesn’t look like much in a photo, but the waves were 15 feet high and when Brent told me to be ready to grab our stuff and run, I knew they were serious waves!
We went back to Pipeline yesterday morning and this is how flat it was…
You’re probably thinking to yourself that wow, I must be a surfer as well a photographer, but (my friends are snickering right now) I am pretty much as far from a surfer as you get. I only know all the cool lingo from Brent, who had this in our hotel room.
I tried to get a picture of him surfing, but between my horrible point and shoot camera skills and the fact I was so far away, this was the best I could do.
And even though there are no surfing pictures of me, I did manage to do a little self-portrait on the sand.

I am writing this post far far away from home…more details on that to come. But, before I left, I was able to meet up with Keith and Jenni and their extended family. We met at the Japanese Friendship Gardens. I had never been before and it was really beautiful! A great place to wander around and good picture spots around every corner! Here are Keith and Jenni and their boys…
And I took this picture on a stepping stone over the water. I think the ‘risk’ of getting wet made them a little giddy…hence the big smiles!
And Jenni’s sister and her family had just flown in from Texas…
Their daughter was a little shy until I started calling her super-cute and super-star. Soon she was calling herself super-cute and the rest is history!
Here’s Grandma and Grandpa…who started this whole clan!
And a picture with the grandkids…
Of course I got several pictures of everyone looking at the camera smiling, but this one was priceless because of everyone’s expressions!! -Kristin
This morning I got to meet Jake and Nicky for their modeling portfolio. They braved the chilly/windy weather and had lots of fun jumping around with me and talking power rangers.
Jake and Nicky are twins, but not identical. When I first met them I thought I’d have trouble telling them apart, but their personalities made it quite easy! Jake is outgoing and very talkative…
Nicky is a bit more quiet and super sweet and sensitive…
By the end of our photo session, I had won them over. Their mom told me that they asked if I could come over for Christmas dinner…how sweet is that!?
This morning I met my friend Lauren with her kids and their cousins to do some photos for Mother’s Day. There’s nothing moms like more than pictures of their kids and grandbabies, so what a fantastic idea!
Jason thought I hung the moon, Katie had to be convinced!
In fact Jason was pretty much a little ham the entire time!!
Baby Eli’s eyes are two different colors right now, so his dad wanted a picture in case they change…
Here’s his big brother Ethan. What a cutie!
And one last picture of Katie in a picturesque setting.
Thanks you guys! I had fun hanging out this morning! -Kristin
When you take a girl as amazingly sweet as Jordan , it only make sense that she would have a beautiful baby girl that was born almost perfectly on her due date, has perfect skin, can sleep through anything, and the list goes on!
Most of the time when I photograph newborns, I’m on their schedule. We stop when they’re hungry, we let them suck on pacifiers to soothe them, we wait for them to get comfy and fall asleep, then we wait some more! Not this little angel. Once she fell asleep, she let me move her and continue to reposition her to get a million great shots.
I told Jordan this one could have her own calendar! She fell fast asleep in m basket…
And on my stool…
And in her little purple basket…
And the list goes on! I also tried a new wrap on Bella and I think it’s adorable. Especially with this big yawn!
I had SO much fun capturing all the sweet little moments in Bella’s
first week of life. Jordan, you look amazing…and you’re such a great
mom! -Kristin
With the incentive of eating ice cream and going swimming, Lauren braved 2 hours of temperatures in the 90s on Sunday! We had lots of outfit changes and she didn’t complain once.
She was an absolute trouper walking through a dirty old field to get these shots for me!
And her mom and dad were amazing…always ready with cold water and the next outfit change!
Lauren is quite stunning and has a naturally serious look, but there’s nothing like an authentic smile and it didn’t take much to make her laugh!
Best of luck to you, Lauren! I know you’ll go far. -Kristin
Fighting for a parking spot at the park today was well worth the trouble to photograph this cutie! I didn’t realize I had chosen such a popular park…we even had someone waiting for my spot while we finished up the paperwork. This 7 month old is quite the little thinker. She was alert and interested in every passer-by, every dog…she caught it all. My job was to get my camera in between her and whatever fascinated her!
She has a stunning serious look, but I wanted some smiles too, so her mom was amazing in helping me get some of these…
She even put her pants on again and again so she could pull them off and get this fabulous laugh!
What a little sweet potato…as her mom calls her! -Kristin
I’ve been wanting a tutu for a long time. And if you know tutus, you know Kaiya Eve has the best ones ever. Shannon passed this one to me that Madi had worn and Jillian was thrilled. This was part two of my cancellation photo series!
And what do ya think of Jillian’s new do? My friend Jessica babysat Jillian and did her hair, so I had to try it!
Jillian had so much fun with her new tutu. I already have several ideas for places to take it for photos. -Kristin
